Methods & The Musings

AI Disclaimer & Transparency
All that prostartes itself before you on this site and its disciples are passion projects. It has a commercial aspect to it but it is above all else a passion project intended to bring entertainment and joy to others.

All are an expression of whimsy or a personal mission of creation. Like a creature of the Fae, I am both whimsical and bound by my own laws and personal rules, which I live by, and one of them, as a creative, is transparency about the process through which I create.

One of these laws, with respect to the countless other creative-minded folks, is regarding the use of AI (LLM or whatever other moniker you choose). I understand it and recognize it as a tool, but for my purposes am not an advocate of its use for the purpose of writing or imagery.

I do not begrudge those who use AI for personal enjoyment, but as a creative myself, I understand its use as both a useful tool and a boon and a bane of the creative process. The mixed feelings associated with it, especially for anything offered commercially. Using a machine to do creative work for me does not align with the intent of why I create. I wanted to bring my visions to life with my own hands or through the human endeavor of friends and associates. Part of the reason for creation is to prove to myself I can create something interesting and valuable, and from a personal standpoint, prompting a machine pr system is not me creating. I wanted to make something I could be proud of, and to me, that means putting in genuine effort.

No AI was used in the writing of these stories or the brainstorming that led to their birth. The novels, illustration, graphic design, and everything else was dredged from my imagination. The day I need a machine to think and write for me is the day my imagination has truly perished, and I, too, should surrender myself to the cold, clammy embrace of the earth forevermore.

I will admit to using spellcheck and grammar assistance programs. Although my style of writing and Grammarly seem to find an uneasy peace at best of times, and outright hostility for the majority. My particular style and mannerisms being somewhat abhorrent to typical grammatical structures and conventions. That is the general extent of my AI-assisted content as far as writing. Suffice to say, essentially to none.

My use of AI assistance on all projects extends to bureaucracy, administrative efforts, and automation. The things that I would rather not do, or that doing fills me with such utterly incomprehensible boredom and distaste it causes my eyes to swivel in their sockets and claw at their nerves in an attempt to escape the monotony before them.

-=AI Imagery=-

Images and illustrations within my works are almost entirely made by human effort. Namely mine, with a few guest appearances by professional artists (AKA my betters). Almost entirely is not, however, entirely, and I wanted to be upfront about the use of AI in some minor elements or elements that I cannot personally verify. For example, if I use a font package or style, I have no idea if it was made by AI or not, I just liked the style and wanted to use it. So I did.

I intend to never use AI to actually create primary content, but it’s become an intricate part of almost every program these days, so a bit of it might slip in here or there simply by association or process in modern time saving methods, but It is never the driving force. It is not used to create, that burden is mine and mine alone.
That being stated, there is nothing that I create that has gone untouched by my stylus and undergone the withering coffee-addled gaze of my discerning eyes. All of the images and designs used have been wholly created by my hand or at very least, been mercilessly edited by my efforts or another living person. I do not use AI to generate anything of merit or focus.

=Graphic Design Elements
All graphic design elements, such as the borders, pages, ect. All have been created from scratch by me. No AI use whatsoever. Even the side portions and logos for this website were made by me. Hence why they sort of suck in an endearing way (I hope).

=Illustrations & Focal Points=
All of the illustrations in my series and other works have either been created by my hand or done by paid artists. Images of this nature have the signature of the artist included. If they do not, then they were done by me. So if you’re wondering why some of the images are, well, sort of mediocre compared to what you might expect or compared to a professional illustrator or an AI image generator. It’s because I made them, and I’m far from being a perfect illustrator, but practice makes perfect. I’d rather make something genuine but flawed, opposed to picture perfect slop.
That all being said, I truly hope you enjoy the imagery and flavor of my creations. They are born of passion and pride, if not proficiency.
